Being on the Mountain: A Celebration of Shavuot

Rabbi Jeff Roth

Congregation Tikkun v’Or invites you to
“Being on the Mountain:  A Celebration of Shavuot”
with Rabbi Jeff Roth
Teacher of Jewish Mindfulness Meditation

Shavuot/Sunday June 12, 10 a.m.-12:00 noon   Contemplative Shavuot Service
Through teachings, chants and silence we can use contemplative liturgy to celebrate Shavuot in a way that introduces us to the four interwoven reality planes that Jewish mystics see as the components of universe where “everything is God and nothing but God.”  We will read the story of the revelation at Sinai and the Ten Commandments from the Torah.

12:00-1:30 Dish-to-Pass Lunch (veggie/dairy please)

1:30-3:30 p.m.  To the Top of the Mountain: Cultivating Loving Kindness and Compassion
This afternoon’s practice will focus on cultivating loving-kindness and compassion. We will learn a form of practice focusing on the repetition of phrases of blessing.

These events are open to anyone in the community. You can come for one or for all the sessions.  If you are joining us for lunch please bring a dish to share.
At each session there will be an opportunity for contributions in appreciation for Rabbi Roth’s teachings. These contributions are instead of a fee.
For more information, call 607-256-1471 or email <info@tikkunvor.org> or see the Tikkun v'Or website.
