A Celebration of Yiddish Language, Poetry, Story and Song

David Forman

David R. Forman is a student of Yiddish and a teacher of Yiddish. He also works as a cataloger of Jewish manuscripts for Cornell University Library. He has written in many genres, ranging from poetry to academic publications in behavioral science. He's had an interesting life, and is an uplifting and engaging speaker. Forman's inspiration for studying Yiddish later in life is his maternal grandfather, the Yiddish writer Solomon Simon. His goal as a translator is not only to bring Yiddish language, life and literature to English readers, but to bring English readers to Yiddish. The Clever Little Tailor (2021) is his first published book-length translation.

David has recruited a few friends to entertain us on this virtual event.
