October 6th falls in between the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah (the beginning of the year), and Yom Kippur, the day of repentance. It is also very close to the favorite harvest holiday of Sukkot, which begins on the evening of October 13th. Children and parents will enjoy holiday activities such as learning to blow the shofar, making decorations for a sukkah, tasting apples and honey and celebrating the “birthday of the world.” In honor of Yom Kippur, there will be a puppet show by Lily Silly, about “saying sorry.” The event is free and open to the public. It runs from 3 to 5 PM. The puppet show begins at 3:45.
