Film: The Settlers

THE SETTLERS Thursday, June 15, 7 pm at Cinemapolis, 120 E. Green Street, Ithaca.

Congregation Tikkun v'Or presents this screening of the  2016 documentary by Israeli filmmaker Shimon Dotan. to mark the 50th anniversary of the 1967 war and the occupation of the West Bank. Rabbi Brian Walt will introduce the film and lead a discussion afterwards.

The Jerusalem Post said The Settlers is a must-see film for anyone who cares about Israel. To which we add that is a must-see film for anyone who wants to know more than the headlines tell us about the Israeli settlements on the West Bank.

How did the settler movement start? Why do Israelis and Jewish immigrants move there? What is life like for them? How do settlers think about and relate to their Palestinian neighbors?

Purchase discount tickets in advance: $7 for TvO members and their guests, $9 for others. Tickets will be sold at TvO events. Or send a check payable to Congregation Tikkun v'Or, P.O. Box 3981, Ithaca, NY 14852. Include the number of tickets you want and your email address so we can send a confirmation. Payment must be received by Tuesday, June 13.

Tickets will also be sold at the door at standard Cinemapolis ticket prices (see: http://cinemapolis.org/ticket-prices).
