My Viennese Mother is a series of funny, poignant stories with music and photos about mother/daughter relationships, about growing up in an immigrant family in the shadow of the Holocaust, about aging and care taking and transcending suffering. Yvonne plays both her mother and herself. The themes are personal and universal.
Yvonne Fisher is a psychotherapist, writer, performer, and visual artist. She performed My Wedding Performance Piece locally, in Ithaca, at the Spring Writes Literary Festival and In Ogunquit, Maine. She has also written and performed Stories of My Jewish Mother both locally and regionally. Yvonne has been an actor for 50 years off and on. She has taught Improvisational theater. She has a Master's Degree from NYU in Educational Theater. She has done Drama Therapy in various settings.She acted with Third Floor Productions in Ithaca, NY. She was in a theater troupe in NYC for 6 years. She studied acting with HB Studios, Gene Frankel, Anne Bogart, Stephanie Glickman, and others.
