Rabbi Saul Berman, a leading Orthodox thinker who was active in both the Civil Rights and Soviet Jewry movements, will recount his experiences in March 1965 in Selma, Alabama. He went to Selma to do voter registration work on behalf of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and to participate in the March from Selma to Montgomery. He was arrested twice during this time. Rabbi Berman will offer a Jewish perspective on the Civil Rights Movement and present day issues.
