We’re having a Tantshoyz - a Yiddish dance party and dessert potluck, at the Ellis Hollow Ceilidh Hall (Kathy and Séamus’ living room) on 
We hope you can come!  Here are more details….

WHERE?  The Ellis Hollow Ceilidh Hall.  This is Kathy and Séamus' living room, featuring a 400 sq ft hardwood dance floor.  About 8 miles East of Ithaca.  Directions at www.kathyselby.com/directions.htm  PLEASE WEAR CLEAN SOFT-SOLED SHOES for dancing.  

WHAT is “yiddish" dance?  This is the Eastern European folk dancing of traditional Jewish weddings and other celebrations. All the dances will be easy to learn and very fun to do, with a caller teaching each dance and then prompting the dancers.  Dancers of all levels of experience and all ages are welcome.

THE ELLIS HOLLOW KLEZMER BAND will play the music, featuring members of the Cornell University Klezmer Ensemble.  Klezmer music is spirited, energetic and soulful, you just have to dance when you hear it!  All members of CUKE are welcome to play in the band, and do some dancing too.

OUR CALLERS will include the indefatigable Ryan Zawel and Sarah Schneider, and Kathy Selby.

SUGGESTED DONATION: $5-10, or bring something delicious to eat.  Cornell students - FREE.
