Temple Beth El Jewish Film Festival in July

Yoo Hoo Mrs. Goldberg

YOO HOO MRS. GOLDBERG
The TBE Arts Committee invites you to the second film in our Jewish film festival for the season, the humorous and eye-opening story of television pioneer Gertrude Berg.  Berg was creator, principal writer, and star of "The Goldbergs," a popular radio show for 17 years, which became television’s first character-driven domestic sitcom in 1949. Berg received the first Best Actress Emmy and paved the way for women in the entertainment industry. Directed by Aviva Kempner (2009), the film includes interviews with Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, actor Ed Asner, producers Norman Lear and Gary David Goldberg, and NPR correspondent Susan Stamberg.

Arrive at 6:30 PM for socializing and refreshments. The film will begin at 7 PM. Admission is $8 at the door (cash or check, please) to cover the cost of the licensing from National Center for Jewish Film. All are welcome!
