Clarinetist, composer, producer, bandleader, MIchael Winograd returns to Ithaca with his band The Honorable Mentshn to present music from his new album on OU People: Early Bird Special. The album, soon to be available on vinyl, cd and download/streaming on all your favorite platforms, continues where Kosher Style left off pre-pandemic in 2019, exploring and updating the sound of 1950’s style instrumental music in the Klezmer tradition. Michael and the Mentshn embark on a tour of the Northeast with their first stop in Ithaca, NY, where residents will have the first dance to Michael’s new compositions and the first chance to purchase the new album!

Michael Winograd is one of the finest performers and composers of Klezmer music today, and a key player in the International Jewish music scene. Following the lead of greats that preceded him – Dave Tarras, Sam Musiker, Naftule Brandwein, Max Epstein – Michael is a practitioner of the klezmer tradition and a composer of new Klezmer music that is shaping what defines the genre today.
