Roots and Ruth - Jewish Text Class: What the Holiday of Shavuot has to do with Israelis and Palestinians.

Roots

The Jewish holiday of Shavuot/Weeks/Pentecost falls this year on May 29th (and 30th). At the center of the traditional celebration of the holiday is the public reading of the Biblical Book of Ruth which is about a Moabite woman who comes to live among the Jews of ancient Bethlehem. Rabbi Hanan Schlesinger will discuss the message of the story for Jews and Palestinians today. (Please read the story before the event! If you would like to receive the source sheet that will be used, please send Hanan an email after May 21 and ask for it: ravhanan@gmail.com)

This will be a Zoom event. If you would like to attend email the host here.

Roots is a grassroots movement of understanding, nonviolence, and transformation among Israelis and Palestinians. To find out more go to the Friends of Roots website.
